EX-DUSU President Ragini Nayak and Amrita Bahari tried to manhandle female ABVP worker yesterday, when Bharti Basoya was pasting the handmade posters for the elections in the north campus. When Bahrti’s resistance for tearing of the posters by Ragini Nayak and Amrita Bahari. She was badly thrashed by Amrita Bahari, Ragini Nayak and other fellow anti-social elements and they also passed lewd comments on her. When ABVP workers demanded to register the FIR but Delhi Police turned down our request succumbed to pressure of the higher authority. Henceforth vigilant common student’s insistence Delhi Police had to change their stand and finally registered a FIR against Ragini Nayak, Amrita Bahari and Rajat (NSUI’s Councillor Candidate) under the section of IPC of 323/509/427/34.
On the penultimate day of the campaigning, ABVP’s Presidential Candidate Nupur Sharma, Vasu Rukhar (Vice–President), Anupriya Yadav (Secretary), Mukesh Shukla (Joint–Secretary) today covered East and Central Delhi colleges - Vivekanand, Shayamlal, Zakir Husian, Aurbindo, Dayal Singh, PGDAV and Deshbandhu. During the campaign Nupur Sharma strongly condemned the shameful act of manhandling of the female student by NSUI goons, she further raised the question of the safety and security of the common students when the former president is indulging is such a despicable act. Anupriya reasserted ABVP’s commitment towards a safe and secure campus. Mukesh Shukla and Vasu Rukhar demanded from the university authorities to take stringent action and forfeit their candidature against those who manhandled Bharti.
